SATC 2 Inspired Looks

Did anyone see Sex and the City 2 last night?? I don't know when I'll get a chance to see the movie, but I'm sooo excited for it! I checked my email this morning and saw that Ideeli is having SATC 2 themed sale! If I weren't under a strict self-imposed shopping ban, I might buy...
a flower and crystal cara couture headband...

a pair of romantic, champagne colored badgley mischka heels...

this sassy pucci dress...
or this tart dress (a steal for $49!)
Has anyone else bought anything from ideeli? I love their sales, but they always seem to have stuff I love at times when I'm trying not to shop!

Another Lilly Giveaway!

The always lovely Trish from Pink Preppy Lilly Lover is giving away a Lilly Pulitzer Murfee Scarf in Hotty Pink Uncontainable. You know it's going to be awesome with a name like that!!
Hop on over to Pink Preppy Lilly Lover for a chance to win this gorgeous scarf! I love Murfee scarves... they are the perfect accessory no matter what the season is. They are great for keeping your neck warm in the winter (and add a splash of color and LILLY to an otherwise blah winter day) and in the summer they make a fantastic wrap for after the sun goes down!

Playing Catch-up!

Life has been so busy/crazy lately! There are quite a few things I've wanted to share with you guys over the past few days and I'm hoping I can remember them all!

*My cousin K's wedding was this weekend in New Jersey and it was so fun! I had such a great time seeing my family and I'm always so happy to see how well my bf gets along with them, especially my uncles and boy cousins. The reception was beautiful and right on a cute little lake. I'll try to post pictures later!

*I was thrilled to see that K used the wedding bouquet charm I gave her as a bridal shower gift. I found a picture of it on her photographer's website. It's kind of hard to see it here...

I bought it from Lauren Nicole Gifts which is a fabulous shop AND blog. Click here to check out all of her wedding bouquet charms.

*I'm moving in a few weeks! I'm super excited to be in a new apartment. I absolutely love the area I'll be living in... I can't wait to tell you about it, but I'll save that for a future post!

*I've been quite the lucky duck lately and won not one, but TWO fabulous giveaways. I won an adorable nautical wine bag from Kate @ Nautical by Nature and tickets to the Sex and the City Hotspots Tour in NYC from Jules @ Chic & Pink. Be sure to check out both of these blogs - they are fun and fabulous!!

*I'm holding a little blog sale this week in an effort to clear out some of my unused/unwanted clothing before I move. I have a couple of Lilly items, some pretty dresses, Frye boots, etc. Check it out here and feel free to email me at cambridge chic at gmail dot com with any questions.

Hope everyone is having a great week! Happy Tuesday!

*Please note that I was not compensated by Lauren Nicole Gifts. I'm just a fan!

Rachel Leigh Jewelry Sale!

There's a Rachel Leigh sale on Billion Dollar Babes this morning and I'm sadly abstaining from buying anything. I posted about my love for Rachel Leigh jewelry (and my tendency to miss the sales!) here. I'm moving in a few weeks and am trying to save mucho dinero. Thankfully there aren't too many pieces featured on the sale... but I would have loved to get this:

And this:

Billion Dollar Babes is another invitation-only boutique sale site (like Rue La La, Gilt, etc). Click here for an invite. Let me know if you get anything from the Rachel Leigh sale! They also have a vintage Louis Vuitton handbag sale tomorrow which looks interesting!

My first blog award!

Thank you to Jules at Chic & Pink for my first blog award!

If you haven't checked out Chic & Pink, you definitely should! Jules posts about tons of fun things and always has fun stories and pictures to share!

The award rules say to list 7 interesting things about yourself and then pass it on to 7 other bloggers. Here are my 7 (hopefully) interesting things:

1. I've lived in Boston for my entire life -except for 2 years where I went to a small liberal arts school in PA.
2. I hate doing the dishes. I avoid it for as long as possible. I really miss having a dishwasher!

3. I'm always cold and keep a fleece blanket at my desk at work. I sometimes even bring it with me to meetings.

4. I'm terrified of the Wizard of Oz. I remember faking sick in Kindergarten so I wouldn't have to watch it. I still can't watch it. Same goes for Willy Wonka.

5. I used to want to move to San Diego. I even toured a college out there when I transferred schools. Sometimes in the winter, I wish I had gone there!

6. I fall into panic mode if I don't have my Blackberry. I actually have two Blackberries (a personal one and a work one) and often carry both with me. I keep both on my nightstand and they are the first things I check in the morning (sick, right?). However, I hate when people use their phones during dinner so I always keep them zipped up in my bag when I dine out.

7. I love dogs. I can't wait to get one of my own. I'm going to get a basset hound and call him "Sherlock Bones."

I'm passing this award on to...

1. Chic and Cheap Living
2. Let the Tide Pull Your Dreams Ashore
3. Tale of a GRITS
4. The Classic Preppy
5. Windy Poplars
6. A Southern Belle "On Paper"
7. Adventures Abroad

I hope everyone is having a great start to their week!

Alexis Bittar Jewelry on LillyPulitzer.com

Have you seen the Alexis Bittar jewelry up on the Lilly Pulitzer site? It's amazing. I can't picture myself wearing all of it, but it is definitely beautiful and compliments Lilly clothes nicely! Here are some pieces that caught my eye:

I don't wear a lot of yellow gold, but the shade of these earrings is stunning.

I would wear this with so many things!

Not my style per se, but the design is so unique and beautiful.

I LOVE this necklace. The stone is my absolute favorite shade of green.

Love the colors in this ring and weave-like design.

Gold and turquouise go so beautifully together...
Click here to see the rest of the pieces!

Happy Friday - have a fantastic weekend!
P.S. How I Met Your Father is hosting an awesome giveaway - a pair of Lilly Spaghetti Strap McKims! Click here to hop on over to her blog to check it out.

Cheddar Chicken recipe

Last night I made this Cheddar Chicken recipe for my boyfriend. I found it in the May edition of Real Simple magazine. It was a big hit! I served it with rice pilaf and green beans, which the magazine suggested. It's definitely not super healthy, but it's delicious and simple. I'd imagine it would be good for kids - because my boyfriend is so picky that he practically IS a kid.

Cheddar Chicken

Total Time: 45 min
Serves 4

Ingredients

16 buttery crackers (such as Ritz) crushed (about 3/4 cup)
6 oz sharp cheddar, grated
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
Kosher salt & black pepper
4 6-oz boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 tbsps unsalted butter, melted

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a bowl, combine crackers, cheese, garlic and 1/4 tsp each salt and pepper.
  2. Dip the chicken in the butter, then in the cracker mixture, pressing gently to help it adhere, and place on a foil-lined baking sheet.
  3. Sprinkle any remaining cracker mixture on the chicken and drizzle with any remaining butter. Bake until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, 25-30 minutes.

You can also find the recipe here. Enjoy! Happy Wednesday!

P.S Don't forget about the Lilly Pulitzer sale on Rue La La tomorrow! Click here for an invite!

GWP Obsession

If you are anything like me, you are a complete sucker for the Gift With Purchase (GWP). Some GWPs are worth it (hello, any of the Lilly ones since I was obviously going to buy the stuff anyway!), but others tempt me to buy things I don't need (or sometimes that I don't even WANT) just because the GWP looks so cute/pretty/shiny/valuable, etc. My love of GWPs started at a young age when my mom or my aunt would buy makeup from Clinique, Lancome, etc and they'd give me the complimentary makeup bag or eyeshadow samples to play around with. In high school, I discovered that you could buy just the gifts at cosmetic outlet stores. Paying $15+ for something that was originally free (with purchase of course) is a total rip-off, but I couldn't help myself. Anyway, I was naturally thrilled to find that the Saks Fifth Avenue website organizes all their GWPs into one convenient webpage. Here are some of the current offerings:

A great deal, especially if you are planning on buying something from La Mer anyway.

I don't like and/or wouldn't use most of the stuff in this GWP, but I'm tempted to fork over my $75 anyway. Why? Because I have a problem.

I've never heard of Guerlain Idylle perfume, but the clutch is darling, no?

Seriously tempted by this cute gold and pink bag!

I've never heard of SK-II or what their products are. But surely, I could find something I need for the sake of this cute Birkin-inspired bag?!?!

Do you buy things because of a Gift With Purchase??

Kindred Connection Party!

It's Wednesday (Happy Cinco de Mayo!) which means it's a Kindred Connection party at Windy Poplars. Hop on over there to join the fun!

Here are this week's questions:
1. If you had a day from this past week that you could "live over" (either to enjoy the good all over again or to change something for the better) , which one would it be and why?

I'd want to re-live this past Saturday. I went to my boyfriend's cousin's wedding and had a wonderful time. His family is so sweet and so welcoming to me and everytime I see them I feel more and more at home with them. His dad even asked me to dance which I thought was so sweet! I spent the afternoon stressing about what to wear and being nervous though so I would like to go back and be waaaaay more relaxed.

2. Do you work outside the home? Are you a SAHM? Are you self employed?
I work outside the home (although luckily my job is flexible and I can "work-from-home" a couple of times a week if I want to).

3. What are two blogs that you really love, and why?
There are so many different blogs I love, but here are two that I recently discovered:

According to Nina - Nina's posts are insightful and fun! I love her style!

Summer is a Verb - Alice's posts are funny and delightful. I love hearing about all her great shopping finds and attempts to hide them from her hubby! Plus, she is definitely an authority on all things preppy!

Pretty Tough Jewelry!

I love Rachel Leigh jewelry, yet always seem to miss the sales on Gilt or Hautelook (case in point: this weekend). Luckily, Gilt seems to have Rachel Leigh sales pretty often so I'm bound to catch one sometime! I love Rachel Leigh's combination of cute (i.e. bows, ribbons, pink) and tough (i.e. snakeskin, chains). The pieces are feminine, but with an edge. All her jewelry is beautiful, but I really love the bracelets. Here is some of what is currently on my wish list:
