My Sketchy Laundry Saviour AND a Coupon!

Today I am singing the praises of this great product:

The Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets are amazing and convenient. They are particularly amazing for someone like me who has a "sketchy laundry situation." What does that mean? Well, I don't have a washer/dryer in my apartment building - which was a big downside for me since I like to do laundry often and I have an irrational fear of laundromats. Luckily, the girl who lived in my apartment before me somehow (??) had keys to the building next door which does have laundry in the basement (I didn't ask how!) and was happy to pass them on to me. I do my laundry there now, but I always feel wicked sketchy and am in and out as fast as possible - I don't want to have to explain why I'm there to people who actually live in the building! I even plan to work from home on days that I do laundry to avoid running into anybody (did I mention there is only ONE washer and ONE dryer?)

That's where the Purex comes in. I don't have to conspicuously lug bottles of detergent and fabric softener from my building to the one next door. I tuck the sheet in my laundry basket and am in and out!

Pillow Perfection

I'm looking for some new pillows for my living room. I have a light beige sofa that needs some sprucing up. My walls are painted a greyish-green (hard to describe, but I love it!) and I have a turquoise and straw colored rug so I'm looking for something bright and green or blue. Here are some great pillows I've found on Etsy:

Wedding Wednesday: Wedzu!

A little over 300 days until my wedding. EEK! Just kidding. I know it's a lot of time, but I'm still feeling the pressure just because I'm, well, me. As I've perused countless wedding sites, I've fallen in love with Wedzu. Wedzu describes itself as "all about weddings. Especially indie, handmade, awesome weddings." It has some really amazing, beautiful, unique handmade items that would add a perfect one-of-a-kind touch to a wedding.

Gorgeous frame-worthy engraved invitations. I am in love with these.

Sweet little "Just Married" luggage tags for the honeymoon. These would be a cute little engagement gift.
Mr and Mrs signs to hang on the back of the chairs at the reception.

Lilly Bonanza!!

If you're anything like me, you've spent hours scouring the internet for a certain Lilly Pulitzer item. There's always that dress or skirt that somehow seems to allude me when it is in stores (like the Originals Wallet in Flowey Wowey... anyone know where I can get one by the way?!). Or maybe you spill red wine on your favorite shirt and you desperately search on Ebay for a replacement. Or maybe you just are so obsessed that you browse Re-Lilly on Facebook and other sites just in case something you absolutely need to own comes up. Well I've found one more place to look!

Bonanza has lots of different things (it seems to be a combination of ebay and etsy... actually, you can import items that you are selling on ebay to bonanza), but it has a pretty good amount of Lilly items and some very good deals.

Garden Variety

I love chinoiserie decor and the price is right on this porcelain garden stool from Pearl River. I'm slowly adding more chinoiserie style items to my apartment - a bamboo style mirror, blue and white china, etc. I think a pair of these would look perfect on either side of my fireplace!

Recent Purchases and OOTD

I wanted to share some of favorite recent purchases with you... which coincidentally are my outfit of the day as well! And even better, it was all on sale! Oh how I love after-Christmas sales!

I've been wanting these Madden Girl boots from the Victoria's Secret website since I saw a them on a friend back in October. I got the tan ones and they look great with jeans! Best of all, I waited until they went on sale...40% off...then I had a $10 Angel rewards coupon... and then a $20 gift card... so all in all, I got my boots for around $20!
Next, I bought this Gap lace top thinking I might wear it on NYE, but I changed my mind. It is super cute though and can be dressed up or down. Today I'm wearing it dressed down with a white cardigan.

And lastly, I finally got my jeggings - also from the Gap. I love them and was shocked by how flattering they look! Plus, they are SUPER comfortable.

Chocolate Indulgences!

The start of 2011 means a big thing to me - it's the year of my wedding! Which also means that the start of 2011 means the beginning of my wedding diet! Anyone have any helpful diet advice?? I'm the worst dieter as I go out for dinner at least twice a week, snack constantly at work, have a frightening affinity for french fries, and always say yes to the second glass of wine. It's gonna be tough for me. But I do recognize the need for small indulgences and just discovered these:

Lemony-Vanilla Goodness!

Has anyone tried the Lemon Vanilla body wash from Bath and Body Works? It's from their Summer Vanillas collection so obviously I'm a few seasons behind the game, but I bought it on sale a few weeks ago and love it! It smells so light and fresh and isn't overly sweet.

The body lotion is also great! I've been using both for a couple weeks now.

I was also happy to discover that it is very similar to another favorite of mine, Fresh's Sugar Lemon Body lotion. And a lot cheaper!

P.S. Speaking of Fresh, does anyone know how long face scrub lasts? I found my beloved Fresh Brown Sugar Face Polish in my medicine cabinet and it's oh, I don't know, about 3 or 4 years old!! Should I just toss it out or could I possibly still use it??? It looks OK....
