A Lilly Inspired Bridal Shower!

I saw this amazing Lilly-inspired bridal shower posted on the Lilly Pulitzer Facebook page and just had to share. Everything is so preppy and pretty and perfect! Go read all about it on the Couture Parties Blog! Some of the highlights include...

Such a beautiful location. I love the windmill in the background. And the Lilly tablecloth? Divine!

The place settings are coordinated perfectly. The green napkins are perfect and the shift dress name card holders are adorable. And the little pink cake is just darling!!
A sweet little shift dress cookie!
I think a Lilly theme is perfect for a bridal shower and this one is absolutely perfect and adorable! Read more about it here!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Fab Giveaways!

Savvy Mode is giving away a gift certificate to Apothica, a fabulous purveyor of beauty and spa products. I had not heard of this store before and was thrilled to discover they sell Vincent Longo products - I was so bummed when Sephora stopped selling that brand. Anyway, be sure to head over to Savvy Mode to check it out and read her review of the gorgeous Stila lipglosses pictured below!

Magnolias, Marriage, and Manhattan is hosting a series of birthday giveaways! Head over to her blog and wish her a happy birthday! While you're there, check out her giveaway for personalized notecards from Paper Court Press. I love these ones with the pretty pink dress!

ShotCakes!

Today I went to a place called ShotCakes in the mall near me. My boyfriend and I saw it on this show called The Phantom Gourmet (we watch it most Sunday mornings!) that reviews local restaurants and eateries and decided we had to try it. It's a combination of two things I love - cupcakes and icecream! The ShotCakes are cupcakes filled with soft-serve icecream!

I ordered red velvet and my boyfriend got cookie dough. His was delicious, but I was disappointed with mine! The combination of cake and soft-serve was sooo yummy, but the cake itself was not great. I like when you can taste the cocoa in red velvet cake AND it didn't have cream cheese frosting which is my favorite part of red velvet cakes. I don't think you should be even able to CALL it red velvet unless the frosting is cream cheese. Next time, I'll have to get a different combination.

Have you ever tried these??

Lilly Sale Success!

As I mentioned in my previous post, I was so bummed that I thought I was going to miss the Lilly sale this week. Well, good news on two fronts! My job interview went well (they've asked me back for a second interview) AND I still managed to snag a couple Lilly items.

I've been wanting this Murfee scarf for awhile and was thrilled to see the terrifice price! It *almost* makes me look forward to fall.

I also got the Delphina dress in Truly Unruly. The print is a lot brighter than it appeared on the Lilly site, but I think I like it. Unfortunately, I don't think I like the other side of it (it's reversible). Does anyone else have this dress? What do you think?

And I was super excited to receive my makeup bag in Not So Crabby! I love how Lilly throws in free gifts with purchase. Fingers crossed that they decide to do a similar fall sale!

Happy Friday! xoxo

Lilly Sale Blues

Tomorrow is the Lilly Endless Summer Sale and I'm so so so bummed that I'm going to miss it. I missed it last year too! The good news is that I'm missing it because I have a job interview! Although I must admit I seriously (albeit momentarily) considered trying to reschedule it so I wouldn't miss the sale! I'm nervous for the interview, but not terribly excited since it's an hour away from my home and I'd hate that kind of commute every day. I'm pretty miserable at my current job though (although very grateful to have it) so I need to put myself out there and who knows, maybe it will be fantastic! At the the very least, I'll get some interview experience.

Wish me luck and let me know what you snag at the Lilly sale!

xoxo

Wall Art from Belle of the Wall

A few weeks ago I won a giveaway from the fabulous BLC at The Company She Keeps. I won a cutom designed piece of wall art from Belle of the Wall. Elizabeth, the artist, was super sweet and created an adorable piece for me!

Isn't it fabulous?? I love the fabrics and the buttons. I'm going to hang it in my hallway. I wanted to hang it right away, but I'm just a touch OCD and need to wait until my boyfriend can bring over his leveler so I can make sure it is perfectly straight.

Be sure to check out Belle of the Wall! She has so many cute designs! And how fabulous of a name is that?!

Etsy Treasures

I LOVE browsing through Etsy for jewelry. You can find beautiful items for great prices and it is a fail-proof place to find birthday gifts, etc. Here are some things I'm currently loving:

Any simple no cooking involved dinner recipes??

Does anyone have any good no-cook dinner recipes? Lately, I've been having to stay late at work and the last thing I want to do when I come home is cook anything. Plus, on a lot of days it feels too hot to have the oven one (OK, OK, I have air conditioning, but it does sound like a good excuse). Any good, simple ideas?

I have several old standbys and I will hopefully post them every week. For now, here are some ideas that I found in a diet tips article on the Prevention website:
  • The smallest fast food burger (with mustard and ketchup). Then, have an apple or baby carrots at home. Note: I've never tried this. I don't think it would be possible for me to walk out of McDonald's without fries.
  • A peanut butter sandwhich on whole wheat bread with a glass of 1% milk and an apple
  • Pre-cooked chicken strips and microwaved frozen broccoli topped with Parmesan cheese
  • A bag of frozen vegetables heated up with 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese and 2 tablespoons of chopped nuts

These might be OK for lunch, but none sound filling enough for dinner! Maybe you guys have some more ideas!

P.S. I added some new items to my blog sale - check 'em out! :)

Wish List

File under "If Money Were No Object." Part 1 of a gazillion part series.

I would love this pattern in a runner for my entrance hallway.
The small size of this cocktail table would be perfect for my living room.
This coffee table comes in a variety of colors, but something about the turquoise color catches my eye. I would totally plan a room around this piece.

I would use this to hold crystal decanters filled with scotch, gin, and vodka...
All images are from The Well Appointed House.
I'm still in the process of decorating my apartment and am hoping to finish SOON. I want to give myself a deadline of the end of August. I need a coffee table, another dresser, a decorative mirror, some lamps, etc, etc.
Where do you buy home decor/furniture? I'd love any advice!
